Mexico: Christmas Eve

There are too many photos to share in one post, so I'll be sharing them in the next few days. For those of you who don't know, my parents live in Mexico for a mission and we went to spend Christmas with them this year. I have missed them so much and I can't wait for them to come home. But this trip was so amazing and I am grateful we could afford to go!

IMG_6346We got there the day before Christmas Eve and as we were going through customs, I saw my dads head sticking up above everyone else's and smiled as they waved. My family. I turned back to Darren, started to cry and told him I couldn't wait for him and ran to greet them. You don't really know how much you love someone until they are gone, I guess. As I hugged my mom in the airport, it kind of made me forget how hard this past year and a half has been without her. Three of my brothers were there with us as well and we always have fun with them.. even when they are obnoxious. :) We went to my parents home and got the tour. It was so fun to finally see where they live and what their daily lives are like. We sat on the couch as my brothers sang and I requested songs for them to play on the piano. I could hear my dad whistling in the kitchen to Christmas music. All the sounds I have missed made me feel like I was home. It brought so much happiness to my soul.

On the way there we looked out the window at the huge volcano close to my parents house. I haven't ever seen a volcano in action before. It was pretty amazing.
