Everyday, all day long, Wesley pulls on my finger, which is his way of telling me he wants to go outside. Although at times it's inconvenient or repetitive, I love it. I have never seen a child want to be outside as much as he does and it makes me grateful. We hope he continues to be passionate about the outdoors through the course of his life.
Because Darren is the same way (and me realizing how much peace I find outdoors), we are always looking for reasons to get out. This weekend we decided a hike in the desert would be fun and headed out as soon as we woke up. Darren had the brilliant idea to go looking for some wild horses he'd seen a few weeks back while kayaking with a friend. I didn't have to argue with that, seeing as I'm always interested in spotting animals in their natural habitat. This was a first for me and it was incredible.
